Adoption Application Information
Please read the below information before continuing with the Adoption Application.
Thank you for taking the time to fill out an adoption application for one of our beautiful pups. This application is intended to learn about you and your family and hopefully make a perfect fit with a fur friend. We strive to place our dogs with families that they are compatible with including the resident pets. Please be aware that completing the application does not obligate you to adopt one of our dogs AND it does not obligate Pits & Pals K9 Rescue to place one of our dogs in your home for adoption. It is important for you respond to each question as thoroughly and honestly as possible. Incomplete applications will be rejected.

IMPORTANT: To be considered as an adopter you must meet the following:
(1) be 23 years of age or older;
(2) be willing to provide identification verifying your current address;
(3) if a renter, be able to provide a signed acknowledgment and permission letter from your landlord for you to own and house the dog; and
(4) be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and proper care for the dog for its entire life.

Adopting a dog is a LIFETIME commitment and should be taken seriously. Many of the animals we get can be scared of humans, they have been abused or neglected, or come with no history at all. To be able to watch a dog flourish with love, care and boundaries is a wonderful thing. We are with you every step of the way after adoption to help support, guide, and assist as much as possible. We want to work with you to make the transition for your new dog as smooth and easy as possible.

ADOPTION PROCESS:
Step One: Complete the Adoption Application

Step Two: Adoption Application is reviewed and followed up questions may be asked by Pits & Pals Adoption Team. This process can take up to a week, depending on how long it takes you to respond to emails.

Step Three: If Adoption Application is approved, Pits & Pals Adoption Coordinator will contact you to schedule a meet and greet with you, and any other humans who live in the home, at a neutral location.

Step Four: If needed, a second meet and greet with dog intros will be conducted for those families with resident dog(s), at a neutral location.

Step Five: If all goes well and the parties wish to move forward with adoption, a Home Check will be scheduled. The Adoption Coordinator will schedule a time to come to the adopter’s home for visual inspection, go over and sign all paperwork, and bring the dog being adopted.

Step Six: Give your new dog a lifetime of love and adventures!
PLEASE NOTE: Pits & Pals K9 Rescue reserves the right to refuse to adopt an animal to anyone for any reason.
