Every dog in our care is different. Some are playful and outgoing, while others need a little extra time to build confidence. What they all have in common is that they're looking for a place to call home and people who will love them for the rest of their lives.
Our job isn't simply to find homes for our dogs. It's to find the right homes. We take the time to get to know each dog so we can help create lasting, successful matches that benefit both our adopters and our dogs.

Our Adoption Process
Submit an Application
Complete our adoption application to tell us about your home, lifestyle, and what you're looking for in a companion.
Application Review
Our team carefully reviews every application. We may contact your veterinarian, verify landlord approval if applicable, or reach out with any additional questions.
Meet Your Match
If we believe one of our dogs may be a great fit, we will schedule a meet and greet so everyone has the opportunity to get to know one another before making a lifelong commitment.
Welcome Home
Once approved, we will complete the adoption paperwork, collect the adoption fee, and send your new family member home.
What Is Included With Adoption?
Every dog adopted through Pits & Pals receives the care they need before going home.
✔ Spayed or neutered
✔ Age appropriate vaccinations
✔ Microchipped
✔ Veterinary care as needed
✔ A starter package of supplies when available
The First Few Weeks
Bringing home a rescue dog is exciting, but it is also a big adjustment for everyone.
Some dogs settle in right away, while others need time to learn that they are finally safe. Patience, consistency, and love during those first few weeks help build trust and lay the foundation for a lifetime together.
Remember the Rule of 3. Many dogs need about three days to decompress, three weeks to settle into a routine, and three months to truly feel at home.
